Wandering Sounds is a performance work by Ang Gey Pin, developed in close collaboration with musician Nickolai D. Nickolov. The project emerged as part of Ang’s PhD in Drama by Practice-as-Research (2013–2016) at the School of Arts, University of Kent. Since its inception, the work has been presented in England, Scotland, Spain, and Italy.
Interweaving theatre and music, voice and instrument, live performance and visual imagery, Wandering Sounds explores the artist’s cultural roots through a reflexive mode of inquiry. Through the performer’s embodied physical and vocal presence, a practice of “speaking-singing” resonates throughout the performance, revealing a continuous dialogue between memory, identity, and cultural inheritance.
